Description
L Lysine is an essential amino acid and precursor to L Carnitine
L-Lysine is an essential amino acid which the body cannot produce itself. It must be obtained by the body through food or dietary supplements. Vegetarians often have a lysine deficiency because this amino acid is greatly underrepresented in certain grain proteins
In fact, the essential amino acid is found mainly in animal proteins. Meat and dairy are the main sources. So if you have a lifestyle with little or no animal products, supplementation with L Lysine can be of added value within your diet!
Moreover, L Lysine is the direct precursor of the semi-essential amino acid L-Carnitine which means that our bodies can only partially synthesize the nutrient from food. L-Carnitine is also mainly found in animal products which again makes meat and dairy abstainers susceptible to inadequate levels.
Highest bioavailable form of L Lysine
As the name suggests, we use only the L-structure form of lysine for L Lysine 1000. From a biochemical perspective, the multifunctional amino acid has two forms, the l-structure form and the d-structure form. The body recognizes only the l-structure form (left-handed form) as natural. The mirrored form, the d-form, does not occur in living material and is therefore referred to as synthetic. The l-structure form provides both the guarantee that our l-lysine is one hundred percent natural and also has the highest bioavailability
Addition of vitamin C and vitamin D
Vitamin C plays an important role for the immune system. For example, vitamin C has been shown to improve resistance around physical exertion. One insurmountable problem with this nutrient, however, we are unable to produce the vitamin ourselves. This makes us completely dependent on our diet for adequate vitamin C levels. Taking a good supplement can then be a welcome addition. In addition, vitamin C allows for better absorption of L Lysine.
